Administration Reports

Jerry Tulis, Treasurer, reported there is currently $3,403.34 in Treasury, which will enable a deposit to be made to the Ocean Edge Resort for the Spring Tour.  This amount compares to $1,777.24 and $2,364.49 in the Treasury for year-end 2005 and 2004 respectively.  He then discussed the receipts, disbursements and reasons for the increased amount in the Treasury compared to the two previous years.

Discussion of the Holiday Party at the Stockyard ensued including the cost, the size of the facility, and if another site should be explored.  Dick Chiasson will meet with Café Escadrille staff and discuss cost and arrangements and report his findings at a future Board meeting.

Ron Swenson, Membership Chairman, reported there are currently 93 paid members, including three new members, compared to 132 at year-end 2005 and 130 in 2004.

A list of vendors who have paid for ads on the Club’s Website was reviewed.  Ron Swenson will contact Foreign Intrigue and G.N. Engineering to determine their interest.  Larry Bingaman noted that KAM Motorsports was interested and will contact the new owner, Gene Antico, with information about placing an ad.

Format for Club Events

Bob DiCorpo distributed a proposed Format for Event Chairman to follow to provide uniform and timely information to members.  Bill Collins also had a suggested fill-in-the-blank format and after discussion, he offered to combine the two for the Board to review.

The Board discussed when the form would be required, the process and protocol and decided that it would not be used for impromptu drives.  The form should be completed by the Event Chairman and sent to Ralph Hadley, Website Coordinator, who would ensure that all relevant information is provided before sending it to the Web Master for posting on the Club Website.

Permissible Use of “Members@”

Bob DiCorpo commented on recent emails to club members that improperly used the “members @” club broadcast email address.  The TYP 356 email address is to be used by members to sell, search for on communicate on  356-related items.  After discussion, it was decided that Bob would handle any violations on a case-by-case basis since there have been only a few incidents recently of improperly using the “members @” broadcast email address.

The discussed the process of placing information on the Club’s website.  It was decided that all information that is to be posted on the Website, will be sent to Ralph Hadley who would review it for completeness and appropriateness and then send it to the Web Master.

Event Planning & Scheduling

The Board next reviewed and discussed the calendar of events that have been planned to date for the year.  The 2006 calendar will be posted on the Web site. The calendar will contain the date, the event and a coordinator. The most current event is a Technical Session that is scheduled on February 18, at 10 AM, Tom Gentz will host a Technical Session at his home shop on powder coating metal.

Also in February, Gullwing at Twilight, a film on the life of gentleman racer John Fitch with director Chris Szwedo, will take place on February 25. The event will be held at the J.K. Lilly Automobile Museum, Sandwich, MA, and will require pre registration no later than February 11th.   Peter Crawford will serve as Event Chair.

The Board also discussed the L.A. Literature Show and Long Beach Swap Meet that will be held on February 24-26.  Bill Collins will serve as the Event Chair and can provide more information.
