Los Angeles Trip 2/24/06-2/26/06 (1 through 11 of 11)
L.A. Literature Show and All Euro Swap Meet at Longbeach, CA 2006

A dozen Typ356ne members met in Los Angeles last weekend to attend the Lit. Show and Swap Meet. Led by Travelmeister Bill Collins, the group consisting of Jim O'Hare, Erling Falck, Sid Wilde and his brother Scott, Tom Gentz, Jim Hannum, George Huff, Rainer Cooney, Steve Serio, the king of jokes Don Osborne and yours truly toured Southern California from morning till late night, enjoying a really wonderful weekend. Some of the group got to attend the VW swap meet and bus show on Sunday orning. The array of VW buses was really something to see. Of course the prices of VW parts that were interchangeable with the 356 were a real treat too. A trip to the Peterson Museum, the Labrea Tar Pits, Beverly Hills/Rodeo Drive and the world famous Pink's Hot Dogs rounded out the trip. The most interesting part of our journey was a stop at Venice Beach. Our walk along the boardwalk proved to be an eye opening experience. Everyone had a great time and we look forward to a trip back to LA next year. - Bob DiCorpo.
